Welcome to the Brockenhurst Choral Society
Our next concert will be held on Saturday May 9th at 7.30 pm at St Saviour’s, Brockenhurst
Rutter Requiem: one of the best-loved and most widely performed choral works of the twentieth century. Rutter composed this popular work in 1985 following the death of his father the preceding year.
Bruckner Locus Iste: a longstanding favourite of both choirs and audiences.
Faure Cantique de Jean Racine: written by Faure when he was only nineteen, this piece is based on a text by the seventeenth century poet Jean Racine. The result is a charming, compelling work which has been lauded since its composition.
Purcell Rejoice In The Lord Always
Instrumental Pieces: These will include the ever-popular minimalist composition "Spiegel im Spiegel" by Estonian composer Arvo Pärt.
